This series consists of muster rolls abstracts of New York National Guardsmen who were mustered into federal service during the Mexican Punitive Campaign (1916-1917). All abstract contains: name; age; date of enlistment or commission; home station; date mustered into federal service; grade; company and regiment. Some abstracts include: how, when, why, and in what grade the individual left the organization; age, occupation, personal information, and brief remarks related to military service.

This series consists of 99 muster rolls from the 5th and 13th New York Calvary, and the 58th, 68th, 119th, and 141st New York State Volunteers. Each muster roll contains the following information: name and rank of the soldier, where and when they were mustered in, person they were mustered in by, age, terms of service, and a breakdown of their salary due. Some vouchers and forms regarding servants also appear.

These registers describe the contents and disposition of letters pertaining to military affairs received by the governor's office. Volume one records all incoming correspondence received by Governor Edwin D. Morgan between June 4, 1862 and August 25, 1862. Volume two records correspondence received by the governor's office from March 28, 1865 through October 17, 1870. The majority of the correspondence pertains to recommendations for promotion of officers; requests for transfers, passes, commissions, etc.; resignations; discharges; and other routing administrative matters.
