Topics that appear repeatedly in recommendations, proposals, and letters of concern are public and private land; wildlife; water resources, quality and pollution; snowmobiles; hunting; the Gooley Dam; airplanes; scenic easements; logging; zoning; and recreation.

- These files document the Adirondack Park Agency's function of implementing the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan through evaluation of proposed development projects. Many such projects, including the Loon Lake Estates project, had a significant environmental impact beyond their immediate area. The files contain correspondence, maps, plans, permits, hearing records, press clippings, deeds, public comments, administrative decisions and rulings, inspection reports, and litigation documents. Also included are photographs depicting sites being considered for and at various stages of development.
