These aerial photographs of Troy North and Troy South quadrangles were taken by the United States Geological Survey in the planning stages for the Troy Arterial, now known as Interstate 787.

This series consists of state and county highway maps showing completed, improved, and proposed roads. Most are official published county highway maps, annotated to show state and county highway systems corrected to 1936. Also included are publications and correspondence on special highway projects in New York City, dating from the 1940s and early 1950s, and a number of World War II maps indicating military priority highways.

This series consists of maps that were apparently used to illustrate transportation planning in diverse areas of the state. Two of the maps are county print maps, color annotated to show what appear to be planning districts in Monroe and Westchester counties. A third map is a laminated published color map of the New York City Subway system, with a separate printed note block affixed giving the operating status of various subway lines.

These 9 x 9 inch black and white aerial photos show highway planning and construction project areas in the Capital District involving Routes I-87, I-787, 146, 32 and 396, and 378. The photos are arranged by project. Besides highways, the photographs show islands in the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers, state canal locks, bridges, and railroad complexes. Some photos contain survey notations.
