This series consists of bonds for the performance of duties executed by guardians, committees, and receivers. A law of 1815 required a court appointed guardian to give bond to the infant-trustee. The bond was to be filed with the court. In practice such bonds were also required from committees for lunatics and habitual drunkards, receivers of property of insolvent corporations, and administrators of estates.

Accounts of infants with the New York Life Insurance and Trust Company

Summary
The laws of 1830 incorporated the New York Life Insurance and Trust Company and stipulated that the Court of Chancery could appoint this institution as a guardian for infants whose estates yielded an annual income exceeding $100. The court used the Trust Company as a depository for the monies of infants and for other purposes. This series consists of the accounts of infants under the care of a court appointed guardian with the Trust Company.

This power was extended to the appointment of guardians for infants by Chapter 106 of the Laws of 1815 and to the appointment of committees for habitual drunkards by Chapter 109 of the Laws of 1821.
