Summary
This series consists of various types of printed forms, reports, incoming correspondence, lists of men who were mustered into the service of the United States government, and an assortment of printed material submitted by local officials to the Bureau of Military Statistics between 1863 and 1868. The records were initially compiled pursuant to Chapter 113, Laws of 1863 which required the Bureau of Military Statistics, in addition to other duties, to "collect and preserve...an account of the aid afforded by the several towns and counties of this state." In 1865 (Chapter 690), the Legislature further specified the type of information which the bureau was to collect.

This series consists of a volume listing bonds filed by a wide variety of state and local government officers. Each entry includes date of bond, file number, office holder's name, and office. (The original bonds are lost.) Offices include, but are not limited to, registers and clerks of the Court of Chancery, Indigenous agents and superintendents (by reservation), superintendents of the Onondaga Salt Springs Reservation, commissioners of military stores, paymasters general (military), state prison agents and clerks, commissioners of state roads and bridges, state lottery managers, Senate and Assembly clerks, and agents of "foreign" (i.e. out-of-state) insurance companies. County-level offices include commissioners of state loans, commissioners of the United States Deposit Fund, and county treasurers.

Summary
This series consists of receipts, copies of orders and decrees, certificates of appointment of guardian, powers of attorney, and correspondence relating to money deposited with the court. Most of these funds were deposited with the court in cases involving guardianships and incompetencies (i.e., lunacy, habitual drunkeness), trusteeships, and disputes over estates. The receipts make up the bulk of the series.

This series consists of correspondence files of and reports received by Dr. Tolman, Director of the Division of Adult Education and Library Extension, relating to his service as State Library Campaign Chairman of the Library War Bond Campaign. The Campaign was an effort to involve local libraries in the Sixth and Seventh War Bond Drives during World War II. These records provide information on the administration of the Campaign and reports of bonds sold in New York State.
