- These chronological lists of passengers were submitted monthly by masters of boats traveling the Erie Canal. Summary
- This series consists of linen plans and drawings for contracts authorized by New York State and funded by the federal government. Under terms of a 1935 state-federal agreement, New York State was able to accept federal aid for improvements to the Barge Canal System without transferring the canals to the federal government. As contracts were completed, the federal government reimbursed the state. The project was known as the Hudson to Great Lakes Waterway and the contracts became popularly known as "U.S." contracts.

- This series consists of a card file that indexes contracts, structures, and related appropriations for work on the Western Division of the Barge Canal. The file is arranged into eastern and western parts of the Western Division. Eastern section cards relate to many different contracts (numbers appear in the upper left corner of cards) and appear to be arranged by "general" and specific types of contracts. Western section cards relate primarily to contracts 40, 48, 76, 47A, 49, and 77, and index contracts for borings done in Wayne County, New York.

- The whiteprint copies of original "blue line" maps are arranged geographically by portfolio then numerically by map number. The maps show boundaries of state-owned lands along the Erie, Champlain, Black River, Cayuga, and Seneca Canals and depict old and new canal lines; structures, streets and adjacent roads; and state and privately owned land. Each portfolio includes full titles. The maps depict in minute detail lands acquired for canal purposes.

- This series contains original linen plans for Barge Canal System contracts furnished under Chapter 147, Laws of 1903. Cayuga and Seneca contracts, produced later and not included in the original Barge Canal contract list, follow an alphabetical order.
