Summary
This series consists primarily of documents obtained by the Special Counsel to Governor George Pataki in connection with the governor's investigation of potential ethics violations made by then-New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi. Records were supplied mostly by the Office of the State Comptroller in response to subpoenas. Records were also supplied by the General Counsel to the Office of the New York City Comptroller in response to subpoenas, by the New York State Ethics Commission, and by other sources.

All investigative materials in Moreland Act commission records are indefinitely restricted pursuant to Executive Law sect. 6 and 63.8 and Civil Rights Law sect. 73.8. Requests for access to such materials are referred to the Governor's Office.

In 2006, New York State Comptroller Alan G. Hevesi (in office 2003-2006) was investigated by the New York State Ethics Commission for alleged inappropriate use of state employees to provide transport for his wife. This series consists of transcripts of testimony and accompanying exhibits from the investigation. Also included is the commission's Notice of Probable Cause.
