- In 1958, the Commissioner's Advisory Committee on the Master Plan for School District Reorganization issued a revision of the 1947 Master Plan. These study files contain minutes of Advisory Committee meetings, proposed changes in the Master Plan, notes and memoranda concerning public hearings held about the Master Plan, correspondence with local school officials and citizens about revised reorganization proposals and county maps.

- This volume lists information gathered from applications for cancellations of tax-sales. All of the applications were made in 1885 for tax-sales held as early as 1866. Information given for each entry includes name of applicant; date of application; description of land; tax-sale year; ground of application; and remarks. Grounds for cancellation frequently include failure of the assessors to certify assessment rolls; failure of the State Comptroller's office to follow proper notification procedures; and other reasons technical in nature.

- This series consists mostly of orders of Circuit Judges granting or denying motions for new trails after hearing arguments on a bill of exceptions in which a defendant alleged error in earlier proceedings. There are also a few orders granting judgment as in the case of non-suit, giving additional time to plead, setting aside a default, etc. The powers of circuit judges were specified in legislation of 1829.

- This series consists of very detailed reports of daily weather observations made at several academies around the state. The Board of Regents initiated a program of weather observations in 1825 which was continued by the Smithsonian after 1850. Daily reports as well as monthly and annual summaries include location, observer, temperature; wind direction, weather conditions, precipitation amount, and remarks (heavy thunder, aurora borealis, etc.). Post 1850 reports also include barometric pressure, wind force and direction; cloudiness; and humidity level.
