- This series consists of cards containing military and naval service abstracts and basic personal data for New Yorkers who served in the U.S. Regular Army, Navy, and Marines during the Spanish-American War (1898); Philippine-American War, or "Philippine Insurrection" (1899-1902); and China Relief Expedition against the "Boxer Rebellion" (1900-1901). The cards were procured by the New York Bureau of War Records from the federal government pursuant to Chapter 75 of the Laws of 1919.

- These registers describe the contents and disposition of letters pertaining to military affairs received by the governor's office. Volume one records all incoming correspondence received by Governor Edwin D. Morgan between June 4, 1862 and August 25, 1862. Volume two records correspondence received by the governor's office from March 28, 1865 through October 17, 1870. The majority of the correspondence pertains to recommendations for promotion of officers; requests for transfers, passes, commissions, etc.; resignations; discharges; and other routing administrative matters.

- This series contains minutes of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Atomic and Space Development Authority. Also included are transcripts of hearings of the Power Authority of New York State and some printed proposed contracts between the Power Authority and potential customers. The governor's office maintained these files to monitor activities of public authorities and to exercise the governor's power to approve or veto decisions made at meetings of public authorities.

- This series consists of approximately 73,000 motion picture case files, one for each film submitted to the Division of Motion Picture for review and licensing. Each case file contains the following: an license application(s); copies of initial and duplicate licenses; a copy of the filmscript; examiner's report; amended film transcript if changes were made; and receipts for seals issued. Some case files also contain correspondence, newspaper clippings, transcripts for non-English films, and promotional ephemera.

- Filmscripts (dialogue scripts, cutting continuities, etc.) for motion pictures licensed by the State Education Department Motion Picture Division are covered by the Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code).
