- The Admission and Release files contain criminal and demographic data on all inmates admitted to and released from facilities supervised by the Department of Correctional Services (DOCS) between 1976 and 1984. Each record identifies inmate's name, gender, ethnicity, education level, occupation, drug use, type of prior record, marital status, crime committed, and sentence imposed. The release record describes the conditions of the inmate's release from department custody, and includes release date, type, facility, and whether the release is a first parole.

- An amendment to the State Constitution, approved on November 8, 1921, required all voters registering after January 1, 1922 to be able to read and write English. Certification of literacy by the Board of Regents was established by legislation in 1923. Literacy certificates were issued by the Regents after applicants passed a test on their comprehension of written English. This series consists of copies of printed documents relating to the administration of the Regents literacy test program.

- This series consists of "An act to revise the charter of the city of Buffalo," S. 191/A. 498, 1890, and Governor David B. Hill's veto memorandum of this bill. The bill (224 pp.) would have provided a system of municipal checks and balances by the creation of aldermen-at large and city councilmen. It would also have created a Department of Public Works in Buffalo, headed by the city Engineer and the Street Commissioner.

Transcripts for the Albany office start 1790; Utica, 1807; Canandaigua (later Geneva), 1829. Each entry includes the name of the party against whom judgment was obtained (usually defendant); name of the party in whose favor judgment was obtained (usually plaintiff); amounts of debt, damages, and costs; date of filing judgment; name of attorney for losing party; and date of satisfaction, if any.
