- This is a fragmentary series of documents relating to military and educational matters. The military documents pertain to personnel issues such as resignations, vacancies and appointments. Included are two documents with lists of names from the 201st Regiment and the 69th Regiment. Also include are school schedules from Montgomery County and partial election tallies for Albany County. Many documents are faded, burned, and incomplete.

- The Temporary State Commission on the Capital City was created for the purpose of cooperating with local officials and groups in developing recommendations for a realistic and fiscally sound program for the rehabilitation of the City of Albany. The series consists of commission staff files that document its various activities. Records include architects' proposals, consultant contracts, South Mall progress reports, reports to the State Legislature, meeting minutes, public hearings, and newspaper clippings. Also included are several dozen photographs and slides.

- Established by the Dongan Charter in 1686, the Common Council consisted of aldermen elected from each of the wards of the city, their assistants, and the mayor or recorder. The governing body was responsible for enacting laws for the city. This series contains 104 volumes of Albany (City) Common Council Minutes and, in addition, Mayor's Court Minutes (1736-1737) and Minutes of the Executive Sessions (1870-1884).

- This series consists of materials prepared for the Bureau of State Publicity by the Barlow Advertising Agency of Syracuse to promote nationwide attendance of the World's Fair of 1939-1940, specifically to encourage out-of-state travel to and from the fair through New York State rather than through Pennsylvania. The series includes maps, proofs of newspaper and magazine advertisements, scripts of radio advertising interviews, and copies of newsletters to legislators on the progress of the campaign.

- This series contains correspondence between Thomas L. J. Corcoran, the War Council's Executive Secretary, and various state and federal administrators who coordinated civil defense work. Topics covered include: air raids; auxiliary police and fire fighters; blackouts; Civil Air Patrol; information distribution; and fire fighting. A large number of correspondence referral forms kept by Corcoran about letters forwarded to the director of the New York State War Council's Office of Civilian Protection (OCP) are also found.
