- The series consists of architectural and mechanical drawings of the State Education Department building located on Washington Avenue in Albany, New York. The original drawings were made by the architectural firm of Palmer and Hornbostel on February 10, 1908, but were revised up until approximately March 11, 1911. The drawings include elevations; floor plans; heating, ventilating, and electrical wiring diagrams; and plumbing system and fixture drawings.

Records tend to be arranged by gubernatorial administration for the following governors: Thomas E. Dewey, W. Averell Harriman, Nelson A. Rockefeller, Malcolm Wilson, Hugh L. Carey, Mario M. Cuomo, and Eliot Spitzer.

Each entry includes the name of court, title of case, itemized costs of the proceeding (whether it went to trial or not) allowed by statute, total costs, name of the defendant's attorney, and signature of the judge or court clerk. Most cases were determined in the Supreme Court of Judicature, others in the Mayor's Court in New York City and the Mayor's Court in Albany.

The commission, as authorized by Chapter 588 of the Laws of 1913, called representatives of many charitable organizations to confer with commission members on the objectives, policies, and work of their respective organizations in providing such relief.
