Summary
This series contains correspondence received by the Office of Civilian Protection (OCP) from war plants requesting exemptions from blackout practices and correspondence from the U.S. War Department listing which plants the OCP was responsible to inspect for civil defense purposes. The OCP shared industrial plant inspection with the War Department, usually reviewing the facilities of smaller, less sensitive plants for civil defense readiness which included blackout procedures and equipment, camouflage, and evacuation plans.
