- This register of claims and awards resulted from a law requiring the adjutants and inspector-generals to obtain and revise records dealing with claim payments to state militiamen who served in the War of 1812; and to report to the comptroller the names, places of residence, and amounts due. The register lists the claim number; name of claimant; claimant's residence; amount awarded; and occasional remarks on particular claims.

- This volume is a register of county treasurers and commissioners of the U.S. Deposit Fund. Each entry gives date of appointment, name, post office address, and office to which appointed. - State employees who voluntarily enlisted in the United States service during the Spanish-American War were entitled to pay as public employees from enlistment time until honorable discharge. This series consists of petitions and claims from State employees to the Comptroller's Office for pay due them. Records contain certified statements verifying the claimant's time and state employment, the name of the unit with which the claimant served and may include a statement of amount allowed the claimant.

- The series contains information on several hundred projects for which the Commission allocated funds for design work. Municipal projects usually consisted of constructing schools, libraries, sewage systems and treatment plants, streets, etc. Projects for State government typically involved construction projects at colleges, institutions, and in parks and other recreation sites The summaries provide title, location, estimated construction and design costs, recommended design allocation from the Commission, and a one paragraph project description.

- The State Auditing Board was authorized to audit claims against the state for expenses incurred in the support of volunteers during the Civil War. This volume contains the results of every claim presented to the Auditing Board. Data includes claim number; classification (designated by capitalized or lower case letter); name of claimant; address (usually city or town); by whom claim was presented; date claim was filed; description of claim; amount claimed; description of board's actions; and final disposition.

- This series originally contained abstracts of warrants recorded in separate volumes of "licenses and warrants" and "treasury warrants". Of the volumes referenced in the abstracts, only one volume of treasury warrants survives (see Series A1887). Warrants were issued by the governor authorizing the state treasurer to pay specified sums to persons who provided goods or services to New York.

- This volume documents applications for state bounty monies. Each entry in the register provides date application was received; name; company; regiment; bounty claimed; and remarks. The remarks usually consist of brief statements concerning date of enlistment, desertions, dates of previous bounty payments, or length of service. At the end of each month, the number of applications received and amounts awarded are totaled.
