- This series contains Office of Civilian Mobilization (OCM) correspondence relating to the organization and coordination of community services by local war councils and volunteer agencies. The OCM also encouraged local agencies supported recreation activities to the prevent juvenile delinquency and maintaining morale; recruited women to work in defense industries and agriculture; promoted child care for those who needed the service; and encouraged pre-induction activities to help young men make the transition from civilian to soldier.
