Summary
This series consists of sympathy cards, letters, a condolence book, and a photography book that were collected by the Office for Elementary, Middle, Secondary and Continuing Education in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Most of the letters were sent from elementary school students in the Cypress School District in California to New York students who lost a parent in the attacks.

This series consists of transcripts of press conferences, interviews, and remarks of Mario M. Cuomo during the course of his gubernatorial administration. The bulk of the events transcribed are official press conferences held by the governor at the Capitol. Also included are transcripts of bill signings, budget messages (or "budget school" held specifically for the press), call-in programs, meetings with newspaper editorial boards, interviews on nationwide news or talk shows, and "press opportunities" following talks given by the governor.

This series contains correspondence from New York citizens to the Governor requesting assistance with war-related concerns, including draft board issues and problems; requests for exemptions from rationing; matters relating to home front activities such as civil defense; and family military concerns. The Governor, the nominal head of the War Council, responded as part of his role as the liaison between the public and the government. A copy of his (or an assistant's) reply often is attached to the correspondence.
