Also included is a printed 1798 set of instructions to assistant assessors from United States Government relating to federal taxes.

- The Industrial Cost and Appraisal Unit makes cost appraisals of complex industrial/utility properties for market value survey and advisory purposes. The market values generated are transferred to the Property Valuation Bureau for use in developing equalization rates, and to municipalities for tax roll purposes. These records consist of equalization appraisals of taxable real property owned by corporations submitted to the Division of Equalization and Assessment to regulate tax assessment and assist local governments in administering the real property tax.

- This series consists of appraisals of various mental and psychiatric centers, state schools, and hospitals of the Department of Mental Hygiene done by an outside contractor, Joseph J. Blake and Associates. The purpose of these reports was to estimate the deprecation under Medicare/Medicaid regulation of all assets of the Department of Mental Hygiene. Included in these reports are definitions of terms, listings of assets appraised, plot/floor plans, and narrative descriptions of buildings.

- The Laws of 1903, Chapter 147 authorized the State Engineer to appropriate lands, structures, and waters for the use of the improved canals (Barge Canal). This series consists of the original linen and paper maps created and maintained by the State Engineer and Surveyor and its succeeding agencies. The bound volumes constitute a five-volume set of maps showing land appropriations made pursuant to Chapter 79 of the Laws of 1895.
