- This brief series of four pages documents individuals who were assessed fines for delinquent behavior while in the New York State Militia. Fines could be levied against militiamen for a variety of delinquent behaviors, among them: not appearing at a regimental parade or place of rendezvous when summoned; disobeying orders of a superior officer; leaving ranks without permission; neglecting or refusing to obey any order or warrant; and appearing for duty without being properly armed and equipped.

Given the date span of the series, many of the recorded transactions document Revolutionary War activities of the new state government and its citizens.
