This series consists of an unbound transcription of documents in Volume 25 of the New York Colonial Manuscripts, Administrative Records, 1675-1676. These transcriptions were made before the 1911 New York State Capitol building fire damaged or destroyed many volumes of the Colonial Manuscripts. Original documents from Volume 25 are found in Record Series A1894, New York Colonial Council Papers, 1664-1781.

This series consists of a draft Historian's 1903/1904 annual report and two supplements to the report: "Mexican War Papers" and a selection of transcribed correspondence. The "Mexican War Papers" provides information on the organization and service of New York units during the war. The transcribed correspondence concerns genealogical questions principally relating to service in the Revolution, but also to colonial, state, and local history.

This series consists of transcriptions of official reports, correspondence, and orders primarily relating to the volunteer artillery, cavalry, and engineer regiments furnished by New York during the Civil War. Most of these records were transcribed from the multi-volume U.S. War Department publication, <emph render="italic">The War of the Rebellion: A Compilation of the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies</emph>. These transcriptions provide a chronological record of the activities of individual units during the Civil War as reported in the Official Records.
