Summary
This series consist of payroll records from Temporary Emergency Relief Administration (TERA) projects in upstate New York as well as from the Emergency Nursery School Project and part-time Education Department clerical staff hired on TERA funds to work in Albany. The records include weekly payroll sheets with employee's name; sex; occupation; hours worked; wage rate; total earnings; and (occasionally) case number. Attached to payroll sheets are employee's time sheets, signed by the local supervisor certifying the time claimed.

This series contains incoming and outgoing correspondence, memorandums, and occasional curricula, course descriptions, or printed publicity flyers from schools. These records resulted from the division's supervisory and advisory responsibilities for all pre-college level vocational classes, extension classes for working minors and adults, and training of teachers in vocational subjects. The correspondence is primarily between the division director and vocational education teachers and supervisors, school principals, college and university faculty, students, and the Federal Board for Vocational Education.

This series consists of correspondence, memoranda, and statistical reports relating to the operations of the Syracuse Collegiate Center which provide relief for unemployed teachers and college courses for unemployed high school graduates. Correspondence, constituting the bulk of the series, mostly pertains to routine administrative matters, such as personal actions and travel arrangements. Statistical reports provide numbers of students, teachers, courses, classes, class size and other information about the schools run by the Syracuse Collegiate Centers.
