Subjects include rural schools, Rural School Survey of ca. 1922; school district organization and centralization; agricultural education; curricula; transportation of students; evaluation of recommendations by the Regents' Inquiry into the Character and Cost of Public Education; and school systems outside of New York State.

Summary
Legislation establishing county vocational education and extension boards (Laws of 1926, Chapter 505) required that the Commissioner of Education approve courses offered by the boards. These files contain correspondence, memorandums, reports, charts, application forms, and news clippings about programs and services offered by such boards. For each county there are separate files for correspondence and for plans and reports. The latter files contain applications for approval of proposed services giving information about the service, schools served, number of students served, and provider's staff.
