This series consists of an apparently incomplete, unpublished draft of a revision of the Code of Public Instruction. It contains the "Consolidated School Law" of 1894, as amended, and other statutes relating to education in force in 1897; followed by several chapters explaining and interpreting aspects of the laws. Summary
This bound volume contains press copies of letters sent by the Superintendent of Public Instruction to book publishers. The letters relate to the acquisition of books for the State Teachers' Library and many include lists of books accepted or refused for the Library. The State Teachers' Library was established in 1895 (Chapter 546) in the Department of Public Instruction to loan books by mail to teachers located in rural parts of the state.
