- This series consists of signed and witnessed bonds for various tracts of land throughout New York State. Information includes purchaser's name, city or town of residence, amount for which purchaser is liable, date when the bond was executed, the name of the tract of land, lot number, and the sum of money for which the purchaser has to make six equal payments in each successive year after the date of the bond.

- Land was sold when taxes were unpaid for two years. If the owner paid the taxes within one year after the land was sold for taxes, it reverted to that person's ownership. This series consists of documents relating to sale and redemption of land on which taxes were owed, mostly in the Forest Preserve. Documents include tax searches, tax sale deeds, lists of lands on which taxes were unpaid or sold for unpaid taxes, affidavits, opinions, and legal briefs.

- By a law of 1894, a person, body, or board in a locality was authorized to assess lands for local improvements and file a written notice with the comptroller. These notices were then audited by the comptroller and paid out through the treasurer. Summary
- This series consists of draft or executed deeds for lands sold for unpaid taxes and not redeemed. Deeds cite specific laws authorizing tax sales but are otherwise in the standard form of a deed. A law of 1823 provided that when land taxes were unpaid for a period of two years the land would be sold. If the owner paid the taxes within one year after the sale, it reverted back to that person's ownership.

- This series consists of documents from a certified search of all tax sales, conveyances, redemptions and cancellations. The volume contains an abstract of title of William Seward Webb and the Ne-ha-sa-ne Park Association to township 41 and part of township 40 in Totten and Crossfield's purchase, and part of township 8, Moose River Tract, Hamilton County, and related deeds and other instruments dating back to 1837. The parcels were conveyed to New York State for the Adirondack Forest Preserve.
