- This series consists of the annual report of the Education Department of Albion Training School to the Commissioner of Correction. Reports include an analysis of inmate population; characteristics and description of the objectives of the program; a detailed description of the administration of the program, proposals for future improvement of the program; detailed statistic on inmates enrolled in specific classes; a descriptive list of educational activities and sample case histories to illustrate need and improvements.

- This series documents instances of inmate misconduct, disciplinary action, and review of the disciplinary action by the institution's Adjustment Committee. Documentation usually includes memorandums and infraction reports describing misconduct; a summary of the infraction and resulting punishment; inmate's explanation; committee decision on the need for further review; and Commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services decision. Files may include inmate letters usually describing situations of misconduct by other inmates.

- Summary information on adult inmates is disclosable under law. State Archives staff will review records containing probation, parole, medical, and juvenile criminal history data and disclose information pursuant to the Freedom of Information Law and Personal Privacy Protection Law. The identity of victims of sex crimes is not disclosable. Unless a specific law forbids disclosure indefinitely, all records must be disclosed after 75 years.

- This series contains materials relating to the procedures and operation of the fingerprint identification program. Because civil defense was considered a national security issue, civil defense volunteers were required to be fingerprinted. The Office of Civilian Protection screened for criminals, and fingerprint identification was conducted by the New York State Department of Correction's Division of Identification. The series includes correspondence, monthly reports, and memoranda.
