Stoddard. Included are records relating to efforts of the State Education Department to deal with specific challenges facing education during World War II and post-World War II period including vocational and higher education for returning soldiers, increased funding for teachers colleges, and extension programs for library and archives services.

- The Office of the Professions (OTP) is responsible for licensing, registration, discipline, and general oversight of thirty-eight professions regulated by state education law. For each profession, board members are appointed by the State Board of Regents. The boards meet regularly to consider pending issues and recommend actions to improve the practice and agency oversight of their respective professions. For more recent meetings, boards generally maintain full meeting files (minutes, agendas, etc.). Most boards have preserved only the actual minutes from earlier years.

- Commissioners of the Land Office examined and settled claims against loyalists' lands confiscated and sold by the commissioners of forfeitures. Most claims were based on erroneous sales of land not subject to forfeiture, or the dower rights of widows of loyalists. These minutes locate and describe the bounds of the property in question; recite the substance of the claim; and state the commissioners' decision and award.
