This series consists of abstracts for New York men who served in the Veteran Reserve Corps (originally the Invalid Corps), an organization of men unfit for regular duty but who were healthy enough for prison guard, hospital, and military police duties. Abstracts include: name; date, place, and length of enlistment; age; date mustered in; grade; company and regiment; how, when, and in what grade the individual left the organization and "remarks," (typically the soldier's prior military service).
