- This series consists of four volumes of receiving blotters providing summary information on approximately 2,500 inmates received at the Westfield State Farm reformatory for women. The blotters contain one page of personal and criminal history information on each inmate compiled at the time of admission to the facility.

The series contains detailed information on the construction costs of the various buildings for the reformatory. Most information pertains to costs of building materials, labor, and transportation costs. The Reformatory's Board of Managers submitted all costs proposals to Comptroller's office.

Series contains unsuccessful requests for information about individuals assumed to be currently or formerly incarcerated in the institution. These inquiries are from parole boards; attorneys; law enforcement officials; relatives and friends; creditors; and social services agencies. Series also includes correspondence regarding the transfer of inmates, usually to or from Albion State Training School.

- This series consists of reports and minutes of meetings submitted to the governor by boards of managers of state institutions documenting their visitation and inspection of these institutions as required by law. The reports provide information on the condition of the facilities, financial and administrative matters, and population of the institution. The minutes detail the organization of the board and election of officers, and provide similar information on the institution and its population as do the reports.
