This series contains four annual reports of the New York State War Council and a report from the War Council's predecessor, the Council of Defense, which were assembled and circulated in order to inform all concerned parties of the war work undertaken by the council's many agencies. These reports explain the organization's divisions and the divisions' responsibilities and programs, and list senior personnel. Also included are two directories of federal, state, and "semi-official" agencies involved in the war work.

Summary
This series consists of correspondence, reports, memoranda, bulletins, press releases, meeting minutes, and payroll records relating to the Education Department's cooperation with the State War Council. Many of these records are transmittals and copies of reports of cooperative efforts by the state agencies represented in the State War Council's Division of Industry, Agriculture and Labor. Other files in the series relate to the Evacuation Committee and Vocation Training for War Industries program.
