- This series consists of subject and correspondence files containing information about diseases contracted by workers at industrial sites and are organized by type or cause of disease. Subject files include papers about diseases given at medical conferences, case studies, medical surveys, and reports. Many include personal medical histories or lists of patients. Correspondence with medical professionals, labor officials, and managers of industrial plants cooperating in health studies is contained as well. Records are partially restricted for 75 years.

Summary
- This receipt book lists land grants issued by Gerrit Smith in 1846 to various African Americans and poor white people. Approximately 3,000 deeds were awarded. The amount of land given to each individual ranged from 40 to 60 acres. The volume, kept by Charles Ray (Smith's secretary), lists the following information relating to these grants: county name; township; tract; lot; quarter of lot; acres; and remarks (i.e. names of grantees).

- This series contains correspondence detailing the Education Department's involvement with war-time programs related to educating citizens on defense matters. Under the auspices of the War Council, the department organized several programs including the Civilian Defense Training Program. A series of pamphlets produced with the Departments of Health, Labor, Mental Hygiene, and Social Welfare for the War Council to educate the general public are included, as are field reports from Education Department personnel who visited statewide war programs.

The last set of numbers in the "H" series number correlate to the project survey file number in Series B2643.

- This series consists of lands under water survey project records, which resulted from surveys conducted on behalf of applicants for lands under water transactions. The records also include some documentation of transfer of jurisdiction to other state agencies. Documented projects were located in the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island as well as Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange, and Greene counties. Typed of records include survey receipts, payroll logs, survey descriptions, phone message slips, survey calculations, copies of adjacent upland deeds, newspaper articles, and survey maps.
