- This series consists of information pertaining to physical examinations and the transfer of Matteawan inmates to wards. Volume one (1957-1964) provides the inmate's name, admission date, weight, height, from where transferred (county only), ward transferred to and date. The second volume differs in content, providing the inmate's date of admission, name, number, age, marital status, date of physical examination, examining doctor, date of transfer, and to which ward (or occasionally, other institution). Records are restricted.

Volume 1 (1888-1937) documents the deaths of approximately 500 inmates. Volume 2 (1896-1920) documents the disposition of the bodies of the prisoners.

- This series consists of a daily count of the population of incarcerated individuals at the Elmira Reformatory taken Monday through Friday at various intervals. Locations at which population counts were conducted include work areas (construction, laundry, kitchen, etc.); educational classes; guard house; hospital; library; cellblocks; dining rooms; cage floor; center gate and dormitories. Also counted were the number of incarcerated individuals received or paroled. The total population of incarcerated individuals for each count is included along with the name of staff member taking the count.

- This series consists of daily records of disciplinary actions at Clinton Prison. Information includes number and name of inmate, name of officer, nature of offense, and form of punishment. The record from 1895-1896 includes discharges from solitary confinement, executions, inmate location changes, and special guards assignments. The record from 1929-1940 includes complaints about food, lack of clothing, or cruel or unjust treatment by a guard. Also included are a few disciplinary records for Camp Adirondack.
