Scope and Content Note
This series includes correspondence between the President of the Board of Directors and the Executive Secretary of Berkshire Industrial Farm regarding public relations, fundraising events, and scholarships for boys enrolled at the institution. Members of the Vanderbilt family are noted in the correspondence as long-time sponsors and donors to the institution. Also included is correspondence and meeting minutes of the Chapter Number One committee. Chapter Number One was an auxiliary group that sponsored theatrical events to raise scholarship and other funds for the youth at Berkshire Industrial Farm. Other Chapter Number One records include reports generated by the benefit manager, financial reports, and copies of theatrical benefit event invitations and programs.
