Scope and Content Note
This series consists of State Civil Service Commission administered examinations for State and county positions.
Almost all examinations are bound but a small number are loosely filed. Included with each examination are the announcement and instruction sheet. Examination announcements contain the following information: the dates the announcement was issued, application was closed, and the examination was held; the position title, duties and salary; minimum qualifications for admittance to the examination; examination's subject and relative weight of its components; and general information and civil service rules (i.e. veterans' credits, fees, notification of results). Instruction sheets contain the examination's rules, number of questions, time allowed, and instructions for filling out forms and the answer sheet. The examination contains the actual questions.
