Scope and Content Note
This series consists of map and photographic print indexes created or collected by the Department of Transportation and its predecessor agencies. Although many of the projects associated with this series are identified, none of the records indexed by the series are held by the New York State Archives. Record types chiefly consist of aerial photographs and annotated maps showing flight paths and numbers identifying photographs taken at each point in the flight.
B2314-12: This small accretion, created by the United States Department of the Interior, Geological Survey Topographical Division, chiefly documents the quadrangle located on Long Island. Other scattered quadrangles such as Attica, Fulton, and Niagara are also depicted. The location of the aerial photographs indexed by these records is unknown.
B2314-12A: The bulk of this accretion consists of index/aerial photographs primarily depicting portions of the Adirondack and St. Lawrence River regions of the state. The group of photographs indexed by the accretion is unidentified and unknown. Many of the photos contain annotations and added grid lines. The scale of the index is 1" = 5000'.
A smaller portion of the accretion consists of photocopies of 1:250,000 scale maps prepared by the Army Corps of Engineers depicting various geographical regions of the state. Information given includes numbered flight plans, dates of flights, film roll numbers, and project numbers. The photographs in the accretion are labeled as having been taken by Lockwood Mapping, Inc. for the Office of Planning Coordination.
