Senator Kevin S. Parker, a Democrat, was first elected to the Senate in 2002. He represents the 21st Senate District, which consists of all or part of the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Borough Park, Parkville, Kensington, Prospect Park South, Ditmas Park, Flatbush, East Flatbush, Farragut, Rugby, and Remsen Village. He has served as Majority Whip (2009-2010) and as chair (2009-2010) and ranking minority member (2011-present) of the Standing Committee on Energy and Telecommunications.
Scope and Content Note
This series consists of archival copies of the official website of Senator Kevin S. Parker. Researchers should note that in 2009, each Senator was allotted space on the main Senate website and the official sites of individual Senators were removed from the live Web.
B2248-06: This accretion consists of an archival copy of Senator Parker's official website produced on December 22, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains biographical information, photographs, a district map, constituent mailers, and press releases (2003-2006) concerning legislation that Senator Parker sponsored, events that took, place in the 21st Senate District, and other matters of interest to Senator Parker's constituents. It also includes information about the state's energy policy, federal funding received by the state, and federal immigration reform. The text of a Senate Minority Conference report (2004) concerning reform of the Rockefeller drug laws is also present.
B2248-08: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Parker's official website produced on June 12, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information, photographs, a district map, and press releases (2008). It also includes information about reform of the Rockefeller drug laws, the state's energy policy, federal funding received by the state, minority- and women-owned business enterprises, and other matters of interest to Senator Parker's constituents.
Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly in mid-2008.
