This series consists of safety plans filed with the Public Transportation Safety Board pursuant to Section 17-b and Article 9-B of the Transportation Law and 17 NYCRR Part 1000.12. The plans document each system's safety plan, including a statement of safety goals and objectives; a detailed description of the transit system; a description of the system's organizational structure; descriptions of safety programs and equipment; a description of the system's accident history; a description of how the plan will be implemented; and compliance reports. The board uses the plans to conduct field audits. Portions of the plan are updated annually.
