Senator John J. Bonacic, a Republican, was first elected to the Senate in 1998 while serving in the State Assembly (1990-1998). He represents the 42nd Senate District, which consists of Delaware County and parts of Sullivan County and Orange County. He has served as chair and ranking minority member of the Standing Committee on Housing, Construction and Community Development, ranking minority member of the Standing Committee on Racing, Wagering, and Gaming, and as co-chair of the Temporary Committee on Rules and Administration Reform.
Scope and Content Note
This series consists of archival copies of the official Website of Senator John J. Bonacic. Researchers should note that in 2009, each Senator was allotted space on the main Senate Web site and the official sites of individual Senators were removed from the live Web.
B2210-06: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Bonacic's site produced on December 20, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains biographical information, photographs, press releases (2000-2006) concerning legislation that Senator Bonacic sponsored or supported and other matters of interest to Senator Bonacic's constituents, and an executive summary of a joint Senate Committee on Housing, Construction, and Community Development and Senate Committee on Local Government report (2004) on reforming the state's tax-exempt land laws. A list of Senator Bonacic's 2006-07 member item initiatives is also included.
Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, some of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly.
B2210-08: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Bonacic's site produced on June 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information, photographs, and a blog entry concerning property tax reform, and press releases (2008) concerning legislation that Senator Bonacic sponsored or supported and other matters of interest to Senator Bonacic's constituents. A list of Senator Bonacic's 2006-07 member item initiatives is also included.
Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly.
