Scope and Content Note
The series apparently consists of copies (made by the letterpress method) of purchase orders for goods sent to vendors by the Syracuse State Institution for Feeble-Minded Children. Entries are in manuscript (blue or black ink) and show date (of order), company/vendor name, description of goods (quantity and type) and cost. Many are signed "W.B. Farrington" and some bear a stamp mark "Make bills in duplicate."
Copies that were poorly pressed are hard to read. An alphabetical name index at the end of each volume clarifies vendor names. The index is organized with sections labeled "A," "E," "I," "O," "U," and "Y" under each letter of the alphabet. Although these vowels presumably refer to other (unknown) volumes, names appearing under various vowels are present in the volume indexed.
