Administrative History
Revised Statutes of 1829, Part III, Chapter 1, Title 2, Article 3, section 93-94 required the Chancery Register, Assistant Register, and Clerks to keep a docket listing, at the request of any party, final enrolled decrees that directed payment of any debt, damages, costs, or other sum of money.
Scope and Content Note
Volume contains summary information about decrees in the Court of Chancery and Court of Vice-Chancery (1st Circuit) that were docketed n the office of the Assistant Register in New York City, if the decree required a money payment by the losing part.
Each entry includes name of person against whom decree was rendered; city or town of residence (usually blank); occupation (usually blank); amount of debt, interest, and costs owed; date and time of docketing decree; names of complainant and defendant; and date of discharge, reversal, or vacating of the decree (usually blank, dates as late as 1853).
After abolition of the Court of Chancery effective July 1, 1847, notes of satisfaction of debts were entered by staff of the New York County Clerk's Office.

Microfilmed for the New York County Clerk's Office in 1959 (part of microfilm roll 4381). Original volume was subsequently destroyed.
