Scope and Content Note
This series consists of the subject and correspondence files of the directors of Wassaic State Hospital, Wassaic Developmental Center, and the Taconic Developmental Disabilities Services Office. These files contain correspondence to and from legislators, other developmental centers, unions, and other relevant parties. Correspondence pertains to fire evaluations, inpatient and outpatient deaths, affirmative action, children's units, and other issues. While most of the records were created during former director John Mizerak's tenure, some records of former director Hollis Shaw are also included.
