Senator William J. Larkin, Jr., a Republican, was elected to the Senate in 1990. He represents the 39th Senate District, which consists of northern Orange County and southeastern Ulster County. He has chaired the following standing committees: Local Governments, Racing, Gaming, and Wagering, and Veterans. He has also served as Chair of the Majority Steering Committee, Secretary of the Majority Conference, and Minority Whip.
Scope and Content Note
This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible website of Senator William J. Larkin, Jr. Researchers should note that in 2009, each Senator was allotted space on the main Senate website and the official sites of individual Senators were removed from the live Web.
B2233-06: This accretion consists of an archival copy of Senator Larkin's official website produced on December 21, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains biographical information and press releases (2000-2006). Also included are the annual report (2005) and statistical supplement (2005) of the Senate Standing Committee on Racing, Gaming and Wagering and "Tending the Vineyards: Renewed Growth for the Hudson Valley's Grape and Wine Industry," the final report (2006) of the Senate Task Force for Hudson Valley Fruit Growers.
B2233-08: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Larkin's official website produced on June 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information, photographs, a district map, and press releases (2008) concerning Senator Larkin's sponsorship of legislation intended to improve teenage driver safety and other matters of interest to Senator Larkin's constituents.
