Scope and Content Note

This address book was apparently kept by the institution's Protestant Chaplain.

In addition to their religious duties, chaplains at the school served as parole officers and often kept in touch with inmates who had received their final discharge. Entries may provide: former inmate's name and number; living arrangements: with parent(s), with other relatives, with foster parents or other non-relatives, married, or institutionalized elsewhere; and address: some entries list two or more addresses and sometimes provide the date on which the address changed.

Custodial History

The Department of Social Welfare placed these records on loan to the Syracuse University Library from 1960-1977.
