This address book was apparently kept by the institution's Protestant Chaplain.
In addition to their religious duties, chaplains at the school served as parole officers and often kept in touch with inmates who had received their final discharge. The Department of Social Welfare placed these records on loan to the Syracuse University Library from 1960-1977.
