Scope and Content Note

This series records the names of inmates who were transferred to different wards or institutions or were discharged from Matteawan.

The entries record the inmate's name, number, date of admission, from where received (Volume 2 only), place of transfer, and date. It is unclear if the registers refer to a specific ward at Matteawan or to the whole institution, but because there is a column labeled "transferred from" in the second volume and usually a ward number is entered, the first possibility seems likely.
