Summary
- This series consists of reports and statements made by the Comptroller at the request of the legislature. Most reports are replies to petitions about land purchases, taxes and claims against the state. Also included are reports to the Legislature and resolutions concerning state revenues and expenditures for specific purposes; reports on monies received and/or expended; and statements of grants, funds or services.

Scope and Content Note
Drafts and copies of reports and statements made by the Comptroller at the request of the legislature.
Most of the reports are in reply to petitions of private individuals in regard to land purchases, taxes, claims against the state, etc. There are also reports to the Legislature concerning state revenues and expenditures for specific purposes. The resolutions of the Legislature (or one house thereof) are sometimes attached to the reports.
Items of more than routine interest include: report on memorial of Henry McNiel, Superintendent of the Stockbridge Indians, 1810 (no. 97); report on monies received into School Fund, 1810 (no. 99); report on receipts and expenditures of Commissioners of the Health Office, New York City, 1805-1811 (no. 109); statement of auction duties received, 1801-1816 (no. 169); statement of monies paid to Hospital in City of New York, 1792-1816 (no. 171); statement of monies raised by lottery, 1817 (no. 184); statement of monies paid for support of State Prison, New York City, 1797-1817 (no. 190); statement of total valuations of real estate in each county, 1815, 1816 (no. 197); report on expenditures for improving navigation of Hudson River, 1818 (no. 207); statements of funds and revenues of the state (including the Canal Fund), made for Gov. Clinton, 1818 (no. 219); report of Commissioners for Settling Accounts of Daniel D. Tompkins, 1819 (no. 258); report on petition of L. Cooke and al., Tuscarora Indians, 1822 (no. 366); report on expenses of Constitutional Convention of 1821 (no. 388); report of uncollected taxes, 1822 (no. 391); draft of Comptroller's annual report, 1826; statement of state grants for literary and charitable purposes, 1800-1819; statement of school and canal funds, 1821; and statement of services (with bills) for revision of statutes, 1826-1828. Reports are numbered and endorsed; there are some gaps.
