This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible websites of the New York State Office of Victim Services, which was created in June 2010, and its predecessor entity, the New York State Crime Victims Board.
B2126-06: This accretion contains a copy of the Crime Victims Board site produced on December 26, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains information about the history and mission of the board and summary information (some in Spanish) about benefits and assistance programs for crime victims, including survivors and families of victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Also included are annual reports (2000-2004) and advisory bulletins (2001-2006) concerning provision of specific services and benefits such as reimbursement of expenses associated with moving, forensic examinations, and interpreters' services, location of Crime Victims Board offices and contact information for staff, and significant personnel and advisory council appointments.
B2126-08: This accretion contains a copy of the Crime Victims Board Web site produced on September 10, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains updated summary information (some in Spanish) about benefits and assistance programs for crime victims. Also included are annual reports (2000-2007) and summary statistical data (1967-2006) concerning financial compensation and other benefits provided to crime victims.
B2126-11: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Victim Services site produced on January 7, 2011, shortly after Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. It contains information about the history and mission of the office and its citizen advisory council, including lists of council members and summary information (some in Spanish) about benefits and assistance programs for crime victims. Also included are forms and publications (some in Spanish), annual reports (2000-2010), a victim's guide to restitution, and summary statistical data (2008-2009) concerning financial compensation and other benefits provided to crime victims. Also included are news items (2010) and information about the victim notification program and the Forensic Rape Examination Direct Reimbursement Program.
This accretion also includes a January 13, 2011 copy of the office's YouTube channel. Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly.
B2126-15: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Victim Services site produced on March 2, 2015, shortly after Governor Andrew Cuomo (2011- ) completed his first term of office. It contains additional annual reports (2009-2014), press releases (2010-2015), a frequently asked questions section, and rules and regulations (2015) governing the office's operations. Also present is information about the office's victim compensation program, medical provider forensic rape examination direct reimbursement program, and funding and guidance for non-profit organizations and municipal agencies that provide state-funded services to crime victims. Forms and publications (some in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Italian, Korean, Chinese, and Russian) outlining services available to crime victims, and contract documents (2012-2014), PowerPoint presentations (2013), advisory bulletins (2013), and broadcast emails sent to all state-funded victim assistance programs (2013-2014) are also included.
B2126-19: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Victim Services site produced on December 24, 2019. It contains additional annual reports (2009-2018) and press releases (2010-2019) and the rules and regulations (2016) governing the office's operations. Also present is updated information about the office's victim compensation program and medical provider forensic rape examination direct reimbursement program, and funding and guidance for non-profit organizations and municipal agencies that provide state-funded services to crime victims. Forms and publications (some in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Italian, Korean, Chinese, and Russian) outlining services available to crime victims, contract documents (2018-2019), advisory bulletins (2013-2019), and training opportunities for operators of state-funded victim assistance programs (2019-20) are also included.
