- The Governor's Conference on Libraries was called by Governor Carey in recognition of the need for citizens to examine their library service needs within the state and in anticipation of the 1979 White House Conference on Libraries. The series consists largely of files reflecting the planning, arrangements, and logistical details surrounding the conference.
