Scope and Content Note
This series consists of a card index to several unidentified contract files. The index seems to refer to expenses, correspondence, maps, and field books primarily of the Middle Division. Custodial History
The index was most likely transferred by the Department of Transportation to the State Archives in 1985 along with numerous other canal-related records that had been stored at the Syracuse Canal Museum but somehow became alienated from the initial transfer. The index was subsequently identified and accessioned by State Archives staff in 2005 and 2006 as part of a project to integrate or describe estrayed or unidentified records.
