Summary
- This series consists of daily reports of assistant physicians of the State Lunatic Asylum (later Utica State Hospital) to the medical superintendent. Statistical information is given by department for capacity; census; patient activity (in bed; idle, employed, attending entertainment, etc.); patients on parole; and attendants on duty, sick or on vacation. Remarks include admissions, paroles, discharges, deaths, escapes, transfers, sickness, accidents, special treatments and operations, recreation, complaints against employees/food. Most reports are for male patients. Records are restricted.

Scope and Content Note
This series consists of daily reports of assistant physicians of the State Lunatic Asylum (later Utica State Hospital) to the medical superintendent. Each report consists of a printed form and covers a twenty-four hour period. Statistical information is given by department for capacity; census; number of patients in bed; idle; employed; out for exercise; chapel or entertainment; patients on parole; and attendants on duty, sick or on vacation.
Headings are given for notes or remarks on admissions, paroles, discharges, deaths, escapes, transfers, recommendations for transfer, recommendations for discharge, new cases of sickness, critical condition, accidents, condition of sick, special treatments and operations, forced feeling, seclusion, recreation, complaints against employees, complaints of food, sick employees, repairs needed, other remarks, and for signature of assistant physician. Most of the reports are for male patients.
