Summary
- The Holland Land Company was an association of Dutch banks and other investors speculating in American land in the 1700s. The company purchased over five million acres in central and western New York and Pennsylvania. This series consists of Holland Land Company survey notes and includes survey data, survey diagrams, and sometimes name of village surveyed.

Scope and Content Note
These notebooks contain survey notes of Holland Land Company lands in New York State.
They provide information on: name of surveyor; year; survey data; survey diagrams; and name of village surveyed (sometimes).
The records were purchased by the state from the widow of David E. E. Mix, who had published lists of Holland Land Company records in Catalogue of Maps and Surveys in the Offices of the Secretary of State, State Engineer and Surveyor, and Comptroller, and the New York State Library (Albany, 1859). Other Holland Land Company field notes are in Miscellaneous Field Notes Relating to Holland Land Company and Adjoining Tracts (Series B0254). Maps of these lands are in Maps of Land Purchased from the Holland Land Company (Series A4018).
