Summary
- Supervisors of towns bounded by the patents dividing line requested a survey be done to establish town boundaries. This series consists of a report containing survey course, marks and measurements; surveyors' certifications of accuracy; letters from town supervisors agreeing with the location of the boundary line as described in the survey; and letters from town supervisors stating that they would not assume responsibility for their share of the survey's cost.

Administrative History
The supervisors of several towns bounded by the line dividing the patents requested the Surveyor General to conduct the survey so that the boundaries of their towns could be firmly established. The Surveyor General directed surveys of state lands.
Scope and Content Note
This volume contains manuscript copies of a report by surveyors appointed by the Surveyor General, containing the course of the survey and survey marks and measurements; surveyors' certifications that the report was an accurate statement of the survey and its results; letters from three town supervisors agreeing with the location of the boundary line as described in the survey; and letters from two town supervisors stating that they would not assume responsibility for their share of the cost of the survey since they were unaware of or not involved in it and believed it to be unnecessary.
