Scope and Content Note
This volume contains minutes of meetings of the commission that took place between May 29, 1888 and December 16, 1889. The minutes are in manuscript format and indicate the date of each meeting, venue, names of commissioners present from each state, and name of meeting chairman. Minutes contain the text of reports presented to the commission, text of contracts, summaries of proposals read, and motions approved. Meeting business pertains to the location and construction of boundary monuments; negotiation of contracts; location of shorelines and boundary lines dividing lands under water; ownership of islands lying between the two states; and procurement and payment of services. The minutes of each meeting are signed by Edward P. Doyle, secretary of the commission.
